White House Deputy Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre now dodges grilling on Biden giving compensation to migrants separated at border and refers questions to the DOJ

It comes after Biden dismissed as 'garbage' reports he was planning to pay as much as $450,000 to separated families. And it follows reports that some government lawyers are infuriated by the size of payments for illegally crossing the barrier.

Little House on the Prairie star Alison Arngrim who played Nellie says Michael Landon was 'mad, bad and dangerous to know' offscreen, echoing claims of his on-screen wife who says he mocked her body and made disgusting jokes about sex, in new book
Little House on the Prairie's leading man Michael Landon may have portrayed a wholesome family man on screen, but in reality, the actor was 'more mad, bad, and dangerous to know', according to a former co-star. Alison Arngrim, who played Nellie Oleson in the hit 1970s show, said although she thought Landon was a 'marvelous' person, he was also 'manic', 'drank, smoked' told 'terrible jokes' and propagated a 'Mad Men' sexist and booze-drinking culture on set. The 59-year-old actress spoke to DailyMail.com after former co-star Karen Grassle, Landon's on-screen wife, accused the late TV star of refusing to pay her a 'fair wage', mocking her body, and making 'disgusting' jokes about sex, in her upcoming autobiography. Arngrim said she agreed that Landon was a world away from the wholesome family loving farmer portrayed on the hit show. Speaking to DailyMail.com at the Hollywood Museum tribute event celebrating Bob Hope and US Veterans Thursday, Arngrim said: 'I got along with him very well, but I have always said he was an extraordinarily eccentric, marvelous and crazy person.

Why does my dad hate America so much?' Democratic Sen. Ron Wyden's multimillionaire SON blasts him and his 'cronies' for 'hating the American dream' and 'tearing things apart'
Florida-based hedge fund millionaire Adam Wyden normally reserves his Twitter feed for investing updates and tips, but on Sunday he used it to scorch his dad's Billionaire's Tax plan. Senator Ron Wyden had introduced his proposal for a Billionaire's Tax on unrealized gains in late October as a way to pay for President Joe Biden 's Build Back Better agenda. It was quickly derailed by bipartisan concerns and questions over the plan's constitutionality. The proposed tax would have hit the gains of those with more than $1 billion in assets or incomes of more than $100 million a year. The rate would align with the capital gains rate, now 23.8 percent. That means Adam Wyden, whose share in his $350 million hedge fund is valued at $100 million, would be one of the ultra-wealthy Americans forced to pay up.

Police photos presented in Glynn County Superior Court Monday show closeup views of the gunshot wounds that killed the 25-year-old. Former Glynn County officer Ricky Minshew also shared that he didn't render aid to Arbery because it wouldn't have been safe. 'We will defend our country and the entire EU': Polish soldiers use pepper spray to push back hundreds of migrants at its border after Belarus dictator Lukashenko sent 1,000 refugees to invade
Videos today showed an enormous procession of migrants near the Bruzgi-Kuznitsa frontier checkpoint, on a highway that links Belarus to Poland, being led towards the border by what appear to be Belarusian soldiers (pictured: the desperate migrants at the border, main; and being met by Polish soldiers, right). A NATO official called the use of migrants 'a hybrid tactic', meaning a combined military-political operation, and said: 'NATO stands ready to further assist our allies, and maintain safety and security in the region'. Lukashenko is accused of flying people in from the Middle East and Africa to use them as human cannon fodder in his battle with the EU, the United States and Britain, who imposed sanctions on Belarus after Lukashenko unleashed a violent crackdown on mass protests against his disputed election win last year. He was slapped with further sanctions in May for diverting a Ryanair flight between EU capitals in May to arrest a dissident Belarusian journalist and his girlfriend on board, and for a brutal crackdown on the opposition. Footage shows soldiers believed to be under the command of Lukashenko coercing the migrants and pushing them towards Poland to orchestrate what Stanislav Zharyn, Minister-Coordinator of the Polish Intelligence Service, has called 'an invasion'. Poland is stepping up security at its border with Belarus in response, with Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak declaring on Twitter that that more than 12,000 soldiers have been deployed on the border, up from the 10,000 soldiers that were there recently.
Proof that you can still Carrie on as a style icon after 50: Sex And The City is back - and there's not an 'old lady' outfit in sight! LIZ JONES profiles Sarah Jessica Parker's dazzling array of dresses
Sarah Jessica Parker, 56, stuns on the cover of Vogue ahead of next month's Sex And The City revival series, And Just Like That, SJP isn't just ageing gracefully - she's ageing proudly. 'There's so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would Never. Happen. About. A. Man,' she says, describing the reaction after the show was first announced. 'She has too many wrinkles, she doesn't have enough wrinkles. It almost feels as if people don't want us to be OK with where we are. 'I know what I look like. I have no choice. What am I going to do about it? Stop ageing? Disappear?' No, Carrie and her crew are not disappearing. Instead, they are giving us a much-needed portrayal of fabulous, feisty 50-plus women who wouldn't be seen dead in sensible lace-ups and a home-knitted woolie. And how lucky today's 20 and 30-somethings are to have something positive as their reference point for middle age. It's too easy to dismiss SATC as fluffy nonsense about heels and handbags. Yet with women's rights being eroded around the globe, the new series could not come at a more prescient time. When it first aired in 1999, SATC liberated a generation, featuring women who didn't need a man to rescue them or buy them nice things and put female friendship first. Today, we need it more than ever. (Pictured: Sarah Jessica Parker's colourful hits and misses)

Musician Alexander Cardinale, 41, and his wife Daphna (pictured bottom left), 43, welcomed a baby girl in September of 2019 after undergoing IVF. They thought something was off and the baby didn't look like them, and as their suspicions grew, they decided to get a DNA test. To their horror, the test confirmed that the baby was not biologically related to either of them. Their IVF clinic later confirmed that the lab they used had swapped their embryo with one belonging to another couple. After spending time with the other couple and their own biological daughter, they swapped the babies (pictured together in main image) when they were four months old.
